Senior Software Engineer

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design and deliver production software features that rely on autonomous AI components, owning each piece of work from first idea through release and ongoing support. This is a hands-on position on a very small team, working closely with leadership to turn loosely defined needs into working systems and to shape how engineering gets done.

What you'll do

- Architect and build new core product capabilities from the ground up, prioritizing reliability, scalability and security.

- Create software features and services that are driven by AI agent technology.

- Build dependable multi-step agent workflows that connect language models with internal and third-party services and data stores.

- Write Python to build and release AI-driven automation for complex business processes.

- Turn loosely defined product needs into concrete technical designs and working releases.

- Partner with customers and internal colleagues to understand technical needs and help move sales conversations forward.

- Own features across their whole lifecycle, from concept to deployment and operation.

- Help set the engineering standards, tooling and working culture as one of the first engineers on the team.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- 5+ years of experience building software products.

- Currently, or most recently, working as a hands-on engineer who writes production code.

- A history of releasing production software in a startup or similarly high-autonomy setting.

- Has launched an AI agent feature that real end users interact with in production, beyond internal tools or coding aids.

- Production backend experience in Python.

- Production front-end experience with TypeScript and React.

- Ability to design an agent-based system, covering orchestration, tool use, evaluation and error handling.

- Willingness to work from the office five days a week.

Bonus points

- Cloud experience with AWS or Azure, including DevOps.

- Prior experience as a founding or early-stage engineer at a startup.

- Base salary: USD 180,000 to 280,000 per year
