About the Company

Our client is a seed-stage, deployment-first AI company founded in 2025 that works with enterprises and frontier AI labs to improve how AI performs in professional settings, starting with engineering and life sciences. It has raised $6M, has a team of about eight and is building the platform that runs AI agents and produces training and evaluation datasets from real professional work.

About the Role

Build the platform behind that work. You will work on distributed systems, data pipelines and performance optimization, plus the tools domain experts use to write and review tasks. Agent runs can take hours and depend on model APIs, remote environments and background services, and you will make those workflows reliable and understandable as usage grows.

What You Will Do

Develop long-horizon agent workflows with the goal of supporting trillions of tokens of processing per week.

Build the services and data pipelines that manage task execution, evaluation results and dataset delivery.

Investigate production issues and improve performance, resource usage and recovery from failures.

Work with experts and project leads to improve their software and reduce repetitive manual work.

Own both the design of new features and their operation in production.

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

Zero to six years of software engineering experience (new grads are welcome), with experience taking a project from requirement through implementation and release.

Production software experience with distributed systems, data pipelines or performance optimization.

Time at a premier AI startup (Series A to E or a leading AI lab or scale-up).

Sound engineering judgment and the ability to investigate unfamiliar codebases.

Genuine interest in AI agents and making them useful and reliable.

Bonus Points

Experience with agent workflows, model inference or evaluation systems.

A degree from a top engineering university.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits

$200,000-$400,000 base salary plus highly competitive equity, higher for exceptional candidates. Visa transfers and new sponsorships are considered. Relocation support is not offered.

Location and Work Model

Full-time and on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area, six days a week in the office. Please confirm this works for you before applying.
