About the Company

Our partner is a venture-backed enterprise AI company that helps large organizations build data pipelines and modernize their data infrastructure. They combine AI agents with an in-house team of data engineers to deliver in months what traditional providers quote in years. In roughly a year and a half they have signed more than 15 enterprise customers and generated several million dollars in revenue. The team is about 35 people, led by experienced repeat entrepreneurs, with a thoughtful culture that values getting things right.

The Opportunity

This is the General Manager role for the company's utilities business. Utilities are replacing the foundational data models that run their operations, a change that typically takes well over a year. Working with a major industry technology partner, their team has shown it can be done in a fraction of that time, and the adjacent integration work that follows is a very large market.

The General Manager owns this business end to end: the go-to-market strategy, the balance between product and service, and the plan to scale. Many of the strategic questions are still open, so the role suits an entrepreneurial operator who is comfortable defining the answer. The role is expected to report directly to the founders as the business grows.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, growth and P&L of the utilities business
• Define go-to-market and the mix of product and service offerings
• Lead and deepen the strategic technology partnership behind the business
• Build and lead a cross-functional team as the business scales
• Work with product and engineering to shape what gets built for the sector
• Navigate an ambiguous, fast-developing market and set direction

Requirements

• Proven experience as a general manager or leader of a business unit
• P&L ownership experience
• Experience defining product and service roadmap and go-to-market strategy
• Background in top-tier management consulting combined with startup scaling experience is strongly preferred
• Ability to operate in dynamic, ambiguous environments
• Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders
