COMPANY: FLIGHTSTORY
REPORTING TO: DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
LOCATION: LONDON, 4 DAYS IN OFFICE
ABOUT FLIGHTSTORY
We are a media and investment company, and we are on a mission to elevate the stories, build the communities, and support the founders that inspire a happier, healthier humanity. We scale creator-led media, ventures and communities.
ROLE MISSION
Be the finance partner to FlightStory’s revenue teams across Media, Community and Product. Turn numbers into clear recommendations, challenge revenue owners constructively, and follow through until something changes. Reporting is the starting point, not the job: your role is to help make the news, not just report it.
KEY OUTCOMES
Own revenue forecasting and analysis, turning variances into recommendations with clear owners and next steps.
Maintain creator and brand P&Ls and present monthly performance packs that explain what happened and what to do next.
Partner with Commercial and Group Business Directors on pricing, deal structures and growth opportunities.
Simplify pipeline management with Sales and make forecasting more accurate with less admin.
Run a revenue month end the business trusts, using automation and AI to improve processes.
Help design commission structures and quarterly targets that Sales see as fair and motivating.
Build business cases for new revenue streams, often with incomplete data, and land a clear recommendation for the exec team.
CORE COMPETENCIES
Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
Explains complex numbers simply to senior stakeholders and creators.
Commercially curious, with sound judgement and high emotional intelligence.
Organised, resilient and focused on outcomes.
Comfortable using data, BI and AI tools to work smarter.
YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF
You’d rather influence a decision than produce a report.
You’re hands-on and own work from start to finish.
You challenge how things are done and look for better ways of working.
You like a fast pace across a global, creator-led business where plans change often.
You enjoy working with creative and commercial people and making complicated things clear.
IDEAL BACKGROUND
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), 0–2 years post-qualification.
Experience partnering with commercial or revenue-generating teams, ideally in media, agency, start-up or high-growth.
Xero or similar, plus data or BI tools, a bonus.
