About Us
About the Team
Launched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics, a global digital sports platform. The Fanatics Sportsbook is available to 95% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the U.S. Fanatics Casino is currently available online in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Fanatics Betting and Gaming operates twenty-two retail sports betting locations, including the only sportsbook inside an NFL stadium at Northwest Stadium. Fanatics Betting and Gaming is headquartered in New York with offices in Denver, Leeds and Dublin.
About the role
We’re expanding our investment in machine learning and building more customer-facing ML applications. To support that growth, we’re looking for a product leader to help shape the strategy for this function. You’ll work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product and commercial partners to bring ML into the customer experience and help drive growth across the Fanatics ecosystem. This is a high-visibility role at the center of how we measure and improve the impact of our growth investments.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy for customer-facing ML applications in our flagship product, tied to the ecosystem group’s key objectives: customer acquisition cost, cross-sell rates, and engagement
- Design non-deterministic product solutions where models play a central role, and decide where ML adds value
- Define how model performance is measured and evaluated, including measurement for probabilistic outputs
- Run experimentation and testing as a core part of how the team decides what to ship
- Partner with ML engineers and data scientists on requirements and evaluation, and with commercial and CRM teams who are working toward revenue targets
- Translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders, educating partners who don’t have an ML or quantitative background
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs and move quickly, balancing model quality against business needs
Experience and Skills
- Senior product management experience, with a track record in product growth, experimentation, or data-driven consumer products
- Quantitative background: statistics, measurement for probabilistic systems, or experience with LLM evaluation frameworks
- Ability to make ML-specific product decisions and evaluate model performance (you don’t need to have been a data scientist)
- Experience in consumer-facing product environments with large user bases and mature data and experimentation practices
- Strong communication skills, with patience for teaching non-technical stakeholders
- A flexible, pragmatic mindset: comfortable compromising and moving fast rather than waiting for perfection
Depending on the role, your interview and onboarding experience may include in-person components, such as onsite interviews or Launching into Better: LIVE—a multi-day cultural immersion in New York City for full-time, non-seasonal hires. These sessions are designed to build connection and bring our culture to life, though specific travel and participation requirements will be confirmed based on your role and location. Your recruiter will provide clear guidance at each stage of the process.
