Job description

Quoted in full from EQL Tech's job posting. Gavroche does not edit it.

Partnership: EQL Tech is recruiting this role for an early-stage AI-native finance operations company. The company runs finance workflows end to end for enterprise clients, using AI systems that do real operational work rather than assisting with it.

About the company: The business is growing quickly and already runs production systems for customers. It is hiring across forward-deployed engineering and AI strategy, and this hire will be the first person most future candidates meet.

The role: You will own hiring for every open role, from agreeing what great looks like with the hiring manager to putting strong candidates in front of them. Roughly 90% of the job is recruiting and 10% is people operations. You’ll report to the Head of Strategy and Operations.

You will:

  • Fill open roles on plan, with screens the hiring team trusts.
  • Build pipeline through outbound outreach, not inbound alone.
  • Agree a scorecard with each hiring manager and run a structured interview loop for every role.
  • Keep every candidate updated within two business days of each stage, and make sure no one drops the ball.
  • Run offers, onboarding and immigration basics reliably, without founder follow-up.

Requirements

Your profile:

  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting, at least two of them in-house.
  • Experience hiring into technical, customer-facing roles such as forward-deployed, solutions or sales engineering.
  • Strong at finding people who aren’t actively looking, and able to say where great candidates for a role come from.
  • Able to tell a strong forward-deployed engineer from a backend engineer, and a strategist from a consultant.
  • Comfortable with early-stage work: no playbook, shifting priorities, and happy with the unglamorous tasks.
  • Able to triage high volumes of applicants using AI tools without good people slipping through.

Nice to have:

  • Series B or earlier experience, ideally as the first or only recruiter.
  • Experience hiring FDEs, AI strategists or deployment consultants.
  • Experience managing agency or marketplace recruiters.
  • Familiarity with common immigration processes.
  • Experience leading or mentoring other recruiters.

Benefits

Benefits and compensation: Salary is $140,000–$190,000 base plus equity, depending on experience (USD).
