The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing luxury custom homes, multifamily developments, major renovations, and historic restoration projects, particularly architect-designed properties and complex urban sites. This role combines hands-on site supervision with full project management, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, quality assurance, safety, and client relations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily jobsite operations to maintain productivity, safety, workmanship, and construction quality.
  • Develop and manage master schedules, short-term look-ahead plans, construction sequencing, and site logistics.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, consultants, inspectors, interior designers, and homeowners.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project documentation to ensure accurate field implementation.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, inspections, daily logs, and other construction records.
  • Lead site meetings, subcontractor coordination sessions, quality inspections, and project progress reviews.
  • Resolve design discrepancies, unforeseen site conditions, constructability challenges, material delays, and scheduling conflicts.
  • Coordinate labor, material deliveries, equipment, site access, and subcontractor activities to maintain construction flow.
  • Maintain exceptional craftsmanship across structural components, architectural detailing, custom millwork, interior finishes, and final installations.
  • Monitor budgets, job costs, labor efficiency, material consumption, and subcontractor performance to protect project profitability.
  • Enforce OSHA standards, company safety procedures, housekeeping requirements, and jobsite operating policies.
  • Keep jobsites clean, organized, secure, and professionally managed.
  • Communicate project status, schedule updates, budget concerns, and outstanding decisions to homeowners, ownership, architects, designers, and company leadership.
  • Oversee punch-list work, owner walkthroughs, warranty obligations, turnover packages, and final project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project partners.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of construction experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 10+ years of residential construction project management or field leadership experience in the Greater Boston area.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing luxury custom homes, multifamily developments, major renovations, or historic restoration projects.
  • Highly preferred: Background in historic renovations, brownstone restorations, or architect-driven residential construction.
  • Strong knowledge of Boston-area construction practices, permitting procedures, inspections, urban site logistics, and local subcontractor coordination.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from initial planning and preconstruction through final completion.
  • Comprehensive understanding of residential construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, quality assurance, and project documentation.
  • Ability to interpret architectural plans, technical specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Experience managing projects in occupied buildings, confined urban sites, or other complex construction environments.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, or comparable construction management tools.
  • OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong on-site leadership and the ability to balance competing priorities without compromising construction standards.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with homeowners, architects, designers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Annual salary of $120,000–$160,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Comprehensive health benefits.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Steady pipeline of high-end residential construction projects.
  • Significant project ownership and senior field leadership responsibilities.
  • Opportunity to lead architecturally distinctive residential projects throughout Greater Boston.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
  • Long-term career advancement and leadership opportunities.
