Agile Robots is a global leader in industrial and humanoid robotics and physical AI, integrating advanced machine learning and robotic vision to redefine the future of work. Headquartered in Munich with a global workforce of 3,000+, we are expanding our North American service and support team.

We are a rapidly growing world-class team, constantly on the cutting edge of what’s possible in AI-driven robotics and automation, creating fast time-to-market solutions for the automotive, consumer electronics, healthcare and service industries. Our products are known for their precision, reliability, and ease of integration. We are actively recruiting mid-level engineering professionals with a solid foundational background in advanced automation to scale our operations and support the deployment of our cutting-edge robotic systems.

Role Overview

We are seeking a technically skilled Robot Service & Support Engineer. You will serve as the primary technical lead for customer deployments, applying engineering principles to install, commission, diagnose, and resolve complex issues with our robotic systems. This role combines advanced systems-level troubleshooting, skillful customer communication and hands-on repair, requiring independent judgment on root-cause analysis and corrective action. Our team works closely with R&D and customers to ensure robots operate reliably in real-world environments.

Requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge of robot kinematics, electrical control systems, and proprietary software to serve as a subject matter expert on the design, integration, and performance of our robotic systems.
  • Customer Technical Escalation: Serve as a technical point of contact for customer issues, independently analyzing complex mechanical, electrical, and software problems, determining corrective actions, and engaging R&D on issues requiring design changes.
  • Field Service Engineering: Plan and lead on-site and in-house service engagements for your customers, determining repair strategies and performing component-level replacements (motors, sensors, cabling, structural components) as needed. Develop and refine preventative maintenance programs to improve hardware longevity.
  • Root-Cause Analysis: Apply engineering analysis to schematics, test data, and diagnostic log files to determine root causes of performance issues and system failures, and recommend design or process improvements.
  • Documentation: Author "lessons learned" reports and technical service notes. Develop knowledge-base content based on field issues and their resolutions.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Partner with Manufacturing and R&D to feed field findings into product improvements and represent the customer perspective across the product lifecycle.
  • Inventory & Tools Management: Define service kit and spare-parts requirements for the region and ensure diagnostic equipment remains calibrated to support rapid deployment.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, control systems, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, or PLC logic).
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose and resolve issues in complex electromechanical systems.
  • Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to customer sites, regionally and throughout the U.S., for hands-on service, training, systems installation and commissioning.

Classification and Compensation

  • Employment type. Full-time, exempt (salaried).
  • Salary range: $105,000 to $140,000 USD per year, depending on experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision insurance, and 401k.
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning in cutting-edge robotics technology.
