What You’ll Get to Do

Indirect spend keeps every site running, from the parts & supplies on the plant floor to the energy that powers it, the packaging that ships our product & the travel that connects our teams. As Director of Indirect (MRO, Travel, Utilities & Packaging), you will own these categories end to end. You will lead a small, talented team, work across every business line & turn scale into savings, service & resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape the strategy. Set the multi-year category strategy across MRO, travel, utilities & packaging, balancing cost, service levels, compliance & supply continuity.
  • Negotiate & partner. Lead sourcing events, negotiations & contract strategy, including MRO distributor consolidation, vendor-managed inventory & integrated supply programs, and packaging supply agreements.
  • Power the business. Drive utility procurement strategy, including energy contracts, rate optimization & risk management, with Finance & Operations. Standardize travel policy, program & supplier management with HR & Finance.
  • Leverage our scale. Manage tail spend, specification standardization & demand management across business lines, including packaging specifications & material consolidation.
  • Build supplier relationships. Own supplier relationship management, with scorecards & executive business reviews on service, delivery, quality, pricing & innovation. Drive supplier development, consolidation & risk mitigation.
  • Set the standard. Develop & implement company-wide supply chain standards, policies & governance. Lead adoption of tools & systems, including catalogs, punch-out & spend analytics, and support the Source-to-Pay rollout in partnership with IT.
  • Lead programs that deliver. Run cross-functional CoE & PMO programs, track metrics against targets & share data-driven insights with senior stakeholders.
  • Grow people & lead change. Lead, coach & develop a team of 3, build skills in partnership with HR, align business lines & champion a continuous improvement culture.
  • Support what’s next. Contribute to ESG supply chain requirements, such as energy efficiency, renewable sourcing, recyclable packaging & supplier disclosures, and to M&A diligence & integration.

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years in strategic sourcing or category management, including 5+ years in indirect categories (MRO, utilities, travel, packaging or facilities-related spend).
  • Experience managing $75M+ in category spend & leading a team.
  • Proven negotiation skills & experience with distributor or integrated supply models.
  • Experience with Source-to-Pay systems, spend analytics & supplier scorecarding.
  • Strong stakeholder management & the ability to influence senior leaders across multiple sites & business lines.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

  • MBA or supply chain certification (CPSM, CSCP).
  • Manufacturing or building products background.
  • Experience in energy procurement, travel program management, packaging sourcing or procurement CoE or PMO leadership.
  • Experience with M&A integration & ESG supply chain programs.
Position Pay Range
$185,000—$200,000 USD
