Help recruit, develop, and grow our team

Toussaint Productions provides personalized DJ, MC, and event production services for weddings and celebrations throughout the DMV and surrounding states.

We are seeking an organized, reliable, and personable Talent Acquisition and Training Specialist to help build our roster of DJs and Team Members—our DJ assistants who support equipment setup, event production, and event operations. Future roster build may include employee recruitment.

This position combines recruiting, onboarding, and hands-on development. You will identify promising candidates, guide them through our selection process, coordinate training, and help prepare them to represent Toussaint Productions with confidence and professionalism.

Recruiting and talent acquisition

  • Recruit DJs and Team Members / Employees through Workable, job platforms, referrals, community relationships, and other relevant channels.
  • Develop recruiting relationships with schools, music programs, colleges, and local creative communities.
  • Maintain job postings, review applications, conduct initial screenings, and coordinate interviews and auditions.
  • Communicate consistently with candidates and keep them informed throughout the hiring process.
  • Assess relevant skills, professionalism, dependability, availability, geographic coverage, and willingness to learn.
  • Maintain an organized candidate pipeline and accurate records in Workable.
  • Work with leadership to identify roster gaps by region, role, skills, and peak-event availability.
  • Build and strategize a pipeline of qualified candidates to support growth, seasonal demand, and replacement needs.

Training and onboarding

  • Coordinate onboarding and role-specific training for both DJs and Team Members.
  • Guide DJs through our 30-day program for experienced candidates and 60-day program for newer candidates.
  • Coordinate auditions, bootcamp sessions, shadow events, assistant assignments, and supervised performances.
  • Arrange supervision and feedback for a DJ’s first three events after deployment certification.
  • Train Team Members "Special Event Assistants" in equipment identification, safe handling, loading, setup, breakdown, inventory checks, and event support.
  • Teach company expectations for appearance, punctuality, communication, client service, teamwork, and escalation procedures.
  • Provide or coordinate with our team DJ instruction in mixing, music programming, MC delivery, wedding formalities, timeline execution, and troubleshooting.
  • Introduce applicable planning and communication tools, including Vibo and HoneyBook.
  • Document progress, provide constructive feedback, and recommend readiness for assignments or additional training.

Roster development and coordination

  • Maintain current records of each person’s training status, skills, location, and availability.
  • Distinguish candidates in training from personnel ready for independent assignments.
  • Coordinate mentors, training equipment, and event learning opportunities with leadership and Logistics Coordinators.
  • Follow up with new personnel after early assignments to identify support needs and improve retention.
  • Track recruiting results, training completion, readiness, and roster growth.
  • Recommend improvements to recruiting and training based on candidate feedback and event performance.

What success looks like

Success means building a dependable roster of qualified DJs and Team Members who are prepared for their assignments and uphold Toussaint Productions’ service standards.

We will evaluate this role through qualified candidate flow, recruiting responsiveness, hiring and training progress, readiness for deployment, geographic and scheduling coverage, early event performance, and retention.

How to apply

Submit your résumé, availability, and a brief description of your recruiting, training, DJ, or event production experience.

Tell us how you would approach finding promising candidates and helping them become dependable members of an event team.

Toussaint Productions welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds who share our commitment to professionalism, creativity, teamwork, and outstanding client experiences.

Requirements

What we are looking for

  • Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, or team development.
  • Working knowledge of DJ equipment and live event operations is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with candidates and colleagues.
  • A patient coaching approach with the confidence to deliver clear, constructive feedback.
  • Strong organization, accurate documentation, and dependable follow-through.
  • Ability to evaluate readiness against consistent standards.
  • Availability for scheduled evening training and weekend events.
