About the Opportunity / A Day in the Life

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a growing, community-focused healthcare organization in Chandler, Arizona. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who enjoys working with children and families, values continuity of care, and wants to make a meaningful impact on pediatric health outcomes.

In this outpatient role, you will provide comprehensive pediatric care to infants, children, and adolescents. Your day will include well-child visits, preventive screenings, developmental assessments, acute illness evaluations, chronic condition management, and family education.

You will work alongside physicians, medical assistants, nurses, and care coordination teams in a collaborative environment that supports quality care and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate is confident in pediatric clinical decision-making, comfortable managing a busy outpatient schedule, and passionate about building trusting relationships with patients and their families.

Bilingual English/Spanish providers are strongly encouraged to apply, as the practice serves a diverse patient population.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Pediatrics-Focused Practice: Work exclusively in an outpatient pediatric setting, caring for children from infancy through adolescence.
  • Meaningful Patient Relationships: Build lasting connections with children and families through preventive care, treatment, and ongoing follow-up.
  • Collaborative Team Environment: Work with supportive physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and care coordination professionals.
  • Clinical Autonomy: Apply your pediatric expertise while having access to an experienced clinical team.
  • Community Impact: Help improve access to high-quality pediatric healthcare for families throughout the Chandler community.
  • Growing Organization: Join an established, expanding healthcare organization with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

What We're Looking For

  • An experienced NP or PA with at least 2 years of pediatric clinical experience.
  • A provider confident in managing common pediatric illnesses, preventive visits, and ongoing health concerns.
  • Someone comfortable seeing infants, children, and adolescents daily while maintaining quality and compassionate care.
  • A collaborative professional with strong communication skills and a family-centered approach.
  • A provider who enjoys working with diverse communities; bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly preferred.
  • Someone dependable, organized, and comfortable practicing in a busy outpatient pediatric environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care to infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Conduct well-child examinations, annual physicals, and age-appropriate preventive screenings.
  • Diagnose and manage acute pediatric illnesses and common childhood conditions.
  • Evaluate and manage chronic pediatric conditions, including asthma, allergies, and other ongoing health concerns.
  • Perform developmental assessments and monitor pediatric growth and milestones.
  • Order, perform, and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and laboratory studies.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based pediatric treatment plans.
  • Provide immunization counseling and administer or coordinate vaccinations according to recommended pediatric schedules.
  • Educate parents and caregivers on nutrition, development, preventive care, and childhood health concerns.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Coordinate referrals to pediatric specialists and ensure appropriate follow-up care.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Arizona Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatrics.
  • Experience providing direct patient care in a pediatric clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.
  • Ability to independently manage routine pediatric visits and common childhood conditions within the provider's scope of practice.
  • Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Preferred Background

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in an outpatient pediatric clinic or community health setting.
  • Experience managing moderate-to-high pediatric patient volumes.
  • Familiarity with pediatric immunization schedules, developmental screenings, and preventive care guidelines.
  • Experience serving diverse or underserved patient populations.
  • Strong EMR documentation and care coordination skills.

This Role Is Likely a Fit If You…

  • Enjoy working with infants, children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Have at least 2 years of pediatric experience and feel confident managing a variety of pediatric conditions.
  • Thrive in an outpatient environment with a steady patient flow.
  • Value preventive medicine, early intervention, and continuity of care.
  • Appreciate working with a collaborative clinical team while maintaining professional autonomy.
  • Want to contribute to a community-focused organization that prioritizes accessible pediatric healthcare.

This Role May Not Be a Fit If You…

  • Have fewer than 2 years of pediatric clinical experience.
  • Prefer working exclusively with adult or geriatric patient populations.
  • Are seeking an inpatient, hospital-based, or surgical position.
  • Prefer a low-volume practice with a significantly lighter daily patient schedule.
  • Are uncomfortable managing pediatric patients across different developmental stages.
  • Prefer a role with limited interaction with parents, caregivers, or interdisciplinary teams.
