About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Project Controls Scheduler to lead scheduling efforts for large-scale construction and modernization projects across educational facilities. In this pivotal role, you will manage a team of project schedulers, partner with senior management, and ensure project timelines and deliverables align with program goals.

This is more than just managing dates — you’ll play a strategic role in keeping complex, multi-million-dollar projects on track, on budget, and on scope, directly impacting the delivery of high-quality educational facilities for the community.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Oversight

  • Partner with Owners’ Authorized Representatives (OARs), Senior Project Managers, contractors, and site staff to review CPM schedules, project scopes, and budgets.
  • Forecast project staffing needs and make recommendations to executive leadership to optimize team resources.

Scheduling & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain program schedules for multiple project types, identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints.
  • Review contractor baseline and updated schedules for scope accuracy, proper sequencing, and contract compliance; provide detailed written feedback.
  • Perform QA/QC on schedule submittals, reviewing critical paths, cost/resource loading, logic relationships, constraints, and milestones.
  • Conduct schedule Time Impact Analyses for change orders and negotiate delay settlements with stakeholders.
  • Perform Critical Path and Earned Value analyses to assess schedule performance.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as the primary liaison between project scheduling teams, senior management, and the Program & Project Controls department.
  • Lead schedule-related discussions in weekly progress meetings and other stakeholder sessions.
  • Conduct site visits to validate contractor progress and prepare status reports for upper management.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain program-level coding standards and data integrity.
  • Perform regular QA/QC reviews of program schedules and master schedules.
  • Prepare schedule performance reports and status updates on a bi-monthly basis.

Requirements

What You Bring

Experience & Skills:

  • 8+ years of full-time professional experience in construction scheduling for an Owner or General Contractor (public works or educational facility projects preferred).
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (latest version) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of cost engineering, scheduling best practices, and schedule forensics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to foster collaboration across diverse project teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in another discipline plus 2 additional years of qualifying construction scheduling experience.
