About the company
Our client is a law firm.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Act as the first attorney point of contact for people seeking representation, judging whether their matters are worth taking on and encouraging them to sign on. Guide a small group of intake staff and partner with senior leadership to sharpen the intake process and reach enrollment goals.
What you'll do
- Screen complex injury matters, mostly vehicle collisions, and decide if they merit representation.
- Talk with prospective clients and earn their commitment to retain the firm.
- Coach and oversee a group of intake specialists, helping them with questions and judgment calls.
- Draw on litigation experience to gauge likely case value and outcomes right from the first conversation.
- Work with firm leadership to improve intake procedures and meet sign-up goals.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Current admission to the California bar with no disciplinary concerns, plus a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Background in personal injury work on either the plaintiff or defense side; pre-litigation attorneys wanting to move into litigation are welcome.
- Familiarity with depositions, motion practice or case planning, or evident readiness to grow into full litigation.
- Working command of injury law fundamentals, including filing deadlines, fault theories and how damages are valued.
- Ability to manage many client relationships at once and plan strategy for each matter.
- Comfort negotiating with insurers and opposing lawyers.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- A warm, humble, collaborative and client-focused style, respectful of all staff, paired with a persuasive approach to securing sign-ups.
- Motivation to build a caseload and be rewarded for results, with a real long-term interest in plaintiff-side injury law.
- Ability to work on-site in the office every weekday.
Bonus points
- Defense-side personal injury attorney moving to plaintiff work.
- Pre-litigation attorney with 2+ years of personal injury experience who is seeking a move into litigation.
