HVAC Pre-Apprentice

Job Summary:  

The HVAC Pre-Apprentice is an entry-level field position designed for individuals beginning a career in the HVAC trade. Working under direct supervision of journeyman installers and foremen on residential and commercial job sites, the Pre-Apprentice supports the field crew while learning the foundational tools, materials, and practices of HVAC installation. This role serves as the starting point toward formal enrollment in the ABC apprenticeship program. 

• Starting pay is $20.00/hr.

Position Description: 

• • Assist HVAC journeymen and foremen with equipment and ductwork installation tasks on residential and commercial job sites 
• • Transport, stage, and organize materials, tools, and equipment as directed 
• • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area on all job sites 
• • Learn and follow all Dave Jones safety policies, OSHA standards, and applicable HVAC codes 
• • Observe and assist with the installation of ductwork, equipment, and related HVAC components 
• • Support crew members with general labor and preparation tasks as needed 
• • Operate basic hand and power tools under direct supervision 
• • Attend any required pre-apprenticeship training or orientations as directed 

Requirements

• MUST be located anywhere North of Cudahy
• Valid Driver’s License 
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
