ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:

Blue United Sourcing is partnering with an established technology services company in Midtown Manhattan to identify a Full Charge Bookkeeper.

This is the company's sole bookkeeping role, reporting directly to the CEO. You'll handle everything from daily transactions and A/P and A/R through monthly, quarterly and annual closings and multi-state sales tax.  You'll have occasional administrative duties for the office as well, such as tracking PTO and serving as the point of contact for building management.

The person who thrives here is a proactive communicator: someone who asks clarifying questions, confirms deadlines, flags issues early and learns established processes before suggesting improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bookkeeping

  • Manage all day-to-day accounting transactions for two companies in QuickBooks Online.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts.
  • Enter A/P invoices, categorize charges and make timely payments.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including following up with clients on outstanding payments.
  • Invoice clients for hardware and software purchases; track shipments and process FedEx invoicing.
  • Process intercompany transactions, deposits, checks and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Process locality-required employee payments.
  • Compute, file and remit sales tax and other financial obligations for New York, New Jersey and California, including managing resale certificates.
  • Prepare QuickBooks Online backup reports twice a month.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience, with stable tenure in prior roles.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online; candidates will complete a short QuickBooks skills assessment.
  • Experience with general ledger functions, A/P, A/R, account reconciliation and month-end close.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, OR equivalent work experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and a knack for spotting numerical errors.
  • Proactive, clear communicator who is comfortable asking questions, confirming priorities and raising issues early.
  • Able to work in the Midtown office daily during the 2–3 week training period, then at least 1–2 days per week.
  • Able to pass a background check and sign a non-disclosure agreement.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • QuickBooks certification (e.g., QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor).
  • Experience keeping books for multiple entities, including intercompany transactions.
  • Experience with multi-state sales tax filings and resale certificates.
  • Experience with light office management or HR administration, such as PTO tracking.
  • Experience in a small business where you report directly to an owner or executive.
