About the company
Our client is an early-stage software company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join as one of the earliest engineers and take on a broad mix of backend and user-facing work. Partner closely with customers to turn their goals into working production software, and help establish the technical standards and working culture of a small team.
What you'll do
- Build internal tooling that measures how software performs and gives the team quick feedback on results.
- Develop scalable data infrastructure that supports dedicated and shared hosting setups at large volumes.
- Take automated, AI-driven applications from design through release for important accounts.
- Design a shared layer of organizational knowledge that the applications can draw on.
- Help set the culture and quality expectations for both the product and the team.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- A background at a fast-growing technology firm with a demanding engineering culture, or earlier work as a founder or early engineer at a startup that gained real momentum.
- Hands-on work in at least one backend language and one frontend language, such as Python and TypeScript.
- Comfort using AI coding assistants and agent-based tooling in daily development.
- Skill in planning and shipping software that spans several layers of an application.
- Solid experience building services and data pipelines, whether backend-focused or full-stack.
- A strong computer science or related academic background, or standout engineering experience in place of a degree from a leading program.
- Roughly 3 or more years of professional experience.
- U.S. work authorization and the ability to work on-site five days a week.
Bonus points
- Experience building payment systems or agent-based architectures.
- Sharp instincts for troubleshooting issues in production environments.
- Ambition and a history of quick advancement to senior or staff level.
