We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to develop building electrical systems for high-rise and large-scale commercial projects. The successful candidate will bring strong Revit and AutoCAD capabilities, hands-on experience producing construction-ready design packages, and the ability to coordinate technical work across multiple engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical system designs for high-rise offices, condominiums, hotels, airports, municipal buildings, industrial facilities, and other complex commercial properties.
  • Produce electrical plans, layouts, details, specifications, and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Complete electrical load calculations, establish system requirements, select appropriate equipment, and prepare power distribution and lighting layouts.
  • Apply relevant electrical codes, building regulations, and engineering standards throughout the design process.
  • Examine architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify design conflicts, omissions, and coordination issues.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and other design professionals to ensure integrated project documentation.
  • Check drawings and technical packages for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and constructability.
  • Respond to construction-phase questions, assist with technical coordination, and incorporate required design revisions.
  • Manage assigned design deliverables from early development through final construction documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges, meet deadlines, and maintain design quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of electrical engineering or building systems design experience; experience in an MEP consulting firm is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing electrical systems for high-rise buildings or complex commercial developments.
  • Advanced proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience with commercial facilities such as office buildings, condominiums, hotels, airports, industrial properties, or municipal buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical systems, load calculations, applicable codes, and engineering design standards.
  • Ability to interpret and coordinate architectural, structural, electrical, and other MEP construction drawings.
  • Experience preparing detailed electrical designs and construction documentation.
  • Strong communication, coordination, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple design assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting project deadlines.

Preferred: Previous experience working for an MEP consulting firm in South Florida.

Important: Candidates with residential-only electrical design experience will not qualify. Relevant commercial building or high-rise design experience is essential.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Health insurance options.
  • Retirement plan options.
  • Paid time off.
  • Additional company-sponsored benefits and programs.
