Job description

At Big Spaceship, we're explorers, not settlers. We partner with ambitious brands ready to venture into new territory, push creative boundaries, and lead rather than follow.

We're a full-service creative shop built for brands that want to break new ground. Our diverse team of entrepreneurial spirits, creative minds, and makers brings bold ideas to life for some of the world's most innovative and culturally connected brands. If you thrive on exploration, creative risk-taking, and charting new paths, you belong here.

We're looking for a Designer with a strong eye, a genuine love of design, and a curiosity to keep pushing what's possible. This is an opportunity to explore different creative challenges, work across multiple clients, and grow your craft in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. From branding and campaigns to digital experiences and beyond, you'll have the opportunity to experiment, stretch your skills, and make the role your own. We're especially excited about designers who are inspired by the worlds of luxury and travel, but above all, we're looking for someone with range, initiative, and a drive to keep evolving.

Roles + Responsibilities

  • Develop branding and visual standards for campaigns, bringing creative concepts to life across a range of clients and deliverables
  • Create original designs that align with project goals, creative direction, and brand standards while looking for opportunities to push ideas further
  • Collaborate with Art Directors, Designers, and the larger creative team to explore concepts, experiment with visual approaches, and iterate on layouts
  • Work with the New Business team to develop compelling presentation materials
  • Adapt your design approach to different brands, audiences, and creative challenges, maintaining a high standard of craft throughout
  • Prepare for creative reviews by organizing and outputting optimized files and presentation materials
  • Present your work clearly and confidently, articulating the thinking behind your creative decisions
  • Review final deliverables with an exacting eye, ensuring layouts, imagery, and typography are polished and precise
  • Manage time and priorities across multiple projects, balancing creative exploration with deadlines and deliverable requirements

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a creative agency or similar environment; digital agency experience is a plus
  • A strong portfolio showcasing thoughtful design, a range of visual approaches, and a willingness to experiment
  • A keen understanding of typography, color theory, composition, illustration, and current design trends and industry standards
  • An adaptable design sensibility and the ability to move between different brand identities, creative directions, and project types
  • A genuine passion for design and a growth-oriented mindset, with an eagerness to learn, take creative risks, and develop new skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently present your work and articulate your design rationale
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • An interest in luxury, travel, or experience-driven brands is a plus
  • A strong understanding of Figma and Adobe design tools
  • A willingness to learn generative AI approaches to augment creative and design
  • After Effects experience is a plus
