What if your job was to put a spark in a student's eye the moment they realize a technical career could be their career? That's the heart of this role. As the Future Maker Coordinator, you'll bring hands-on STEM experiences to students across the region, helping them explore fields like aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, construction, and automotive technology through real equipment and real conversations. You'll prep and run the Future Maker Lab for events and school visits, support a growing team, and help create the kind of moment that shifts a student's whole sense of what's possible for their future. If you're energized by connecting with people and want work that genuinely changes lives, we'd enjoy meeting you.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guide and present to students through hands-on devices and equipment that spark interest in technical careers, presenting with clarity and energy across a variety of settings
  • Coordinate and prep the Future Maker Lab for events and school visits, confirming the right equipment and staffing are in place for each program
  • Support the Future Maker Director with team scheduling, training, and program planning, including tracking survey compliance and communicating with school and community clients
  • Assist with coordinating digital content requests from faculty and contribute to audio, video, and AR/VR productions that showcase technical career paths
  • Help develop new hands-on activities and set up or break down event materials in indoor and outdoor settings as needed
  • Deliver excellent customer service and a professional, welcoming presence at every event, collaborating with the team on ongoing program improvements

Requirements

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Background in a technical field a plus (aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, construction sciences, automotive, or veterinary technology)
  • CDL required. Candidates who do not currently hold a CDL are still encouraged to apply. WSU Tech will support you in obtaining your license as part of onboarding.
  • Comfortable working across Windows, iOS, and Android devices
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Self-starter who thrives working independently with minimal supervision
  • Sound judgment and quick, practical decision making
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
