Job description
Quoted in full from LAP Coffee's job posting. Gavroche does not edit it.
LAP is on a mission to make the speciality coffee experience more affordable, digital, and convenient. In a world where services continue to move into the virtual world, LAP (Life Among People) is bringing back the human touch paired with the personalisation and convenience that modern consumers have gotten used to with digital business.
We are a small but mighty team serving coffee from our stores in Berlin, Munich and Hamburg, Cologne and soon in Düsseldorf as we rapidly expand across Germany. We're looking for a Store Manager in Düsseldorf to work directly with our leadership team and support our launch in the city.
As a Store Manager at LAP Coffee, you will be instrumental in the success of our brand in the city, where we aim to become our customers' everyday coffee place. If you are looking to join at an exciting time and have tons of ownership, impact and visibility, this is the place for you.
What you will do:
Own the day-to-day success of one LAP store. You lead the team, organize shifts, ensure great customer service, and keep the store operations running smoothly. When needed, you jump behind the counter yourself, support the team during busy moments, and help drive strong sales and a great customer experience while driving business growth and profitability.
Team Leadership: Ensure baristas are working towards achieving company goals and standards while upholding and creating a great culture.
Operational Excellence: Maintain elite operating standards across all locations under your management.
Community Engagement: Build meaningful relationships with neighborhood businesses and residents to foster local brand loyalty and goodwill.
Team Scheduling: Oversee and manage team schedules to ensure punctuality and operational readiness.
Training Adherence: Master and apply product, service, and brand training playbooks to maintain consistency and quality.
Product Quality Management: Ensure proper measures are in place to handle products correctly, preserving their freshness and quality in both food and beverage offerings.
Waste Reduction: Implement and sustain systems to minimize product wastage by monitoring and adjusting par levels in line with business fluctuations.
Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain health and safety standards at all times, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
What you bring:
At least 2-3 years of leadership experience in hospitality or retail (Shift-Lead, Head Barista, Junior Manager, F&B Manager), with a strong track record in team scaling, inventory, and supply chain management. Coffee industry experience is a plus.
Entrepreneurial, solution-focused, and adaptable to fast-paced, start-up environments.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
Proven ability to spot growth opportunities, test ideas, and execute within tight budgets.
Willing to travel occasionally for new opportunities.
Fluency in English and German.
Performance Tracking: Accurately track and report daily KPIs, inventory counts, and commissary supply transfers for locations under your management.
Customer Growth Strategies: Collaborate with our Brand and Marketing team to create and execute strategies for growing a loyal customer base.
Store Performance. You keep an eye on key store metrics, plan shifts effectively, keep your team aligned and performing at their best, while identifying key areas for improvement across the store.
Team Development: Support and cultivate a cohesive team of baristas, inspiring them to grow into future General Managers.
What we offer:
Ambitious team: Work closely with our experienced leadership to build and scale an innovative lifestyle consumer coffee brand. Join a promising startup early on while relying on a great team that moves fast and thrives on collaboration.
Fun and passion: Become part of a curious and young group of people cherishing our joint love for good food, regular team events, and coffee culture.
Exciting industry: Be at the forefront to revolutionize the coffee industry and help us make specialty coffee affordable and accessible!

Your response will help us support you effectively. (For example, adjustments might include accessibility needs, assistive technology, or extra time for certain tasks) 💙
